General Summary 

This position requires technical design, build, implementation and coordination skills in networking, business applications, operating system, hardware configurations, Internet, email, telephony, security, disaster recovery, etc.  Ensures the enforcement of corporate compliance to IT standards and policies to meet regulatory requirements.


Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Design, build, implement and support enterprise network security systems to meet the business requirements and ensure the integrity of the enterprise network.

  • Provide after-hours on-call support for enterprise network, voice and security systems on a rotational basis.

  • Participate with IT management to strategize, manage, integrate and coordinate the overall IT direction.

  • Assist in the design and audit of enterprise systems and applications to ensure they meet Corporate security policies and best practices.

  • Provide technical guidance and support for field IT operations staff to ensure corporate standards, processes, compliance and service levels are met.

  • Manage Web content filtering systems, client VPN and Internet firewalls within the environment to provide Internet and remote access capabilities.

  • Working knowledge of Cisco Unity and Cisco VoIP to provide support and ensure functionality on the enterprise network.

  • Assist with preparation of IT-related proposals by performing feasibility, economic and cost-benefit analysis of alternative solutions.

  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions related conversions and implementations.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

 

Education and Work Experience

  • Any combination of the following qualifications preferred:  Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and /or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience maintaining network security in large, multi-site business environments.

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

 

  • Expert knowledge of network security systems and designs including stateful firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, auditing and alerting systems and authentication systems.
  • Background in securing environments with multiple vendor or Internet connections, wireless networks and WAN networks including MPLS, Point to Point and VPN connectivity.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL concepts and processes.
  • Capacity to solve problems and make decisions in a clear and decisive manner.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Practical knowledge of supporting remote sites and equipment and working with less technical personnel in the support of those sites.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with the skill to convey ideas to both business and technical team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands

  •   Ability to lift 50 pounds.

·         Travel to remote offices, plants, and job sites may be required on an in-frequent basis.

·         Provide after-hours, on-call support on a rotational basis with other team members.

·         Position would reside locally in the region supported.
